Abandoned Barns and Farms

We go through life with a certain plan in mind, thinking everything is headed in one direction, until you get blindsided and knocked off course. I fell on the ice on Christmas Eve, onto my prosthetic hip, making it necessary once again for me to use crutches (Deja vu; I was on crutches for six months straight in 2011).

My life has been tossed up in the air, waiting for doctors to decide to help me. Until then, I have to learn how to be patient. Last Saturday I tried out my new camera, crutches and all.

“You have been my friend,” replied Charlotte. “That in itself is a tremendous thing…after all, what’s a life anyway? We’re born, we live a little while, we die…By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone’s life can stand a little of that.”
