Farewell to the Assumption School

The Old Assumption Catholic School Link – was burned down to the ground on July 4, 2016, and investigators think it was arson. They have still not caught the individuals responsible. I have only recently found out about this after returning home from my trip, I noticed I did not see it from the interstate and decided to look it up. Here is more information on the fire.

The owner is offering a $10,000 reward for the person who has any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the parties responsible for burning down the school.

I wanted to publish a follow-up piece to address what happened. I also wanted to pay my respects to this beautiful, historical place, and the memories it held for all of the children, employees, and their loved ones. This was a special place to many, including myself, and I am sick that it is gone.

To everyone who has suffered the loss of this building, these were these photos from the last time I visited in 11/9/2015, on my way back from Hastings, and some leftover from my first post linked at the beginning of the blog.
